Splaine Consulting Highlights

Our team’s advocacy work, here & abroad

A simple survey could help shape the way Alzheimer’s and Dementia clinical research
operates in our COVID-19 world.

Recruitment Partners LLC is collecting information from persons with dementia and their family caregivers to help their research partners understand how the COVID-19 epidemic is affecting participation in Alzheimer’s and dementia research. Your feedback will help researchers plan and execute the best research possible when they return to operations.

Four decades ago (and ever since) disability advocates said ā€œNo Planning About us Without usā€ which is echoed today by persons living with dementia and their families and advocates.

Scientists, doctors, companies and major medical centers are today making plans to adapt AD research to the realities of COVID-19. In our view, the voice that needs to be heard is that of the potential volunteer participantsā€”persons with dementia and their familiesā€”about what changes they see could to be made for safety and to keep research advancing.

Please add your voice and creativity by completing this survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XC8JDS7

En EspaƱol: We are also making this survey available in Spanish, as this is a part of the US dementia community that we especially want to know better and hear your ideas. Esta encuesta tambiƩn la estamos haciendo disponible en espaƱol, ya que es parte de la comunidad estadounidense de demencia que especialmente queremos conocer mejor y escuchar sus ideas. Hospital2Home – Dementia Capable Care
Transitions: Better Care, Better Outcomes

Hospital2Home Dementia Capable Care Transitions is a free webinar that will take place on September 15, 2020 from 10am-11am(PT). Presented by Jeff Klein, President/CEO of Nevada Senior Services Inc. operating adult day care, inhome respite, home modifications, geriatric assessment clinic and wellness programs and is the Aging and Disability Resource Center for southern Nevada.

Persons with cognitive impairment and their care partners experience daunting challenges receiving dementia capable health care and related community-based transition services during and after a hospital stay. As many as 25% of elderly hospital patients may have dementia, often without a recorded diagnosis. Dementia conscious hospital-to-home care transitions have been shown to reduce readmission rates as well as mitigate the potential for poor outcomes. This presentation will introduce participants to Hospital2Home, a highly successful care transitions model for people living with dementia with a hospital readmission rate of less than 1%.

This Webinar is part of the National Alzheimerā€™s and Dementia Resource Center web seminar series, sponsored by the Administration for Community Living.
